As a 3rd generation Venturan, Caryl Cantrell is in a long line of family living, working and serving in the community.
Caryl has been in the shopping center industry close to 30 years and is employed by Macerich leasing centers such as Pacific View in Ventura and La Cumbre Plaza in Santa Barbara.
Caryl is currently serving on the Board of Project Understanding of Ventura County on the Resource and Development Committee helping to organize fundraising events. She has run six half-marathons benefiting the non-profit by raising several thousand dollars.
Also, Caryl is Chair of Ventura’s Sister City Committee, Ventura/Loreto Sister Cities. Traveling frequently to Loreto, Mexico, she assists the Committee promoting art, education and cultural exchange along with the Sister National Parks and Sister Missions relationships. The Committee has recently formed a Migrant Club and can now provide resources for community projects in Loreto, B.C.S. such as establishing a hazardous materials disposal site for the town.
Caryl is excited for this opportunity to dance and raise money for Project Understanding which is celebrating its 40th year in providing resources for the homeless community which has 11 tutoring sites for homeless children, TenderLife Maternity Home for helping homeless, pregnant women, Homeless to Home and SHORE programs which assist in finding homes.

Longtime salsa dancer Lovie Hernandez is the owner of Lovie's Latin Studio in Santa Paula. Lovie has been dancing, teaching, and performing in the area for over 18 years.
