About the Festival
Spicy food, hot music and cool ocean breezes are on the menu for the 21st Annual Oxnard Salsa Festival, July 30 & 31, 2016 in Oxnard, California.
Plaza Park is the place for a two-day celebration of everything salsa – the food, the music, and the dance. You can taste it, you can dance it, and you can even take it home! Getting here is easy . . . by train, by car, bus or even bike!
The Festival is open 11 am to 7 pm Saturday & Sunday. Best of all – admission and parking are free thanks to the support of our many sponsors. Please – no pets or coolers on site.

Salsa Music & Dancing
Sizzling entertainment takes center stage with six of the area’s hottest salsa bands. From the first beat of the conga on Saturday morning to the last note on Sunday night, the large dance floor is filled with dancers of all ages and abilities! Festivities kick off Friday night with a special concert at Plaza Park.
Shopping
The Salsa Festival is the most exciting place to shop in Downtown Oxnard. The Festival Marketplace features gourmet salsas & sauces, boutique clothing, hand crafted jewelry, garden art, hats, sunglasses, souvenirs, home décor, cultural crafts, sponsor giveaways, and much more. More than 150 exhibitors!
Food & Drinks
Enjoy spicy and refreshing offerings in two international food courts. Carne asada and fish tacos, empanadas, spicy barbecue, fresh roasted corn – it’s all on the menu! Plus frosty wine margaritas, ice cold Budweiser and Shock Top beer, soft drinks, and fresh-squeezed lemonade to cool burning taste buds!
Spicy Salsas
Taste dozens of different salsas – from mild to wild – dished up by local restaurants and salsa vendors in the Salsa Tasting Tent.
Signature Events
Salsa makers can enter their best recipes in the Great Oxnard Salsa Challenge Recipe Contest on Sunday morning at the Festival – pre registration required for all contestants.
Sunday afternoon is all about the stars – community stars – as they take to the dance floor to raise money for local charities in Dancing with Our Community Stars.
