July 17, 2026 - Oxnard Downtowners Foundation Announces Oxnard Salsa Festival Will Not Take Place in 2026

OXNARD, Calif. — The Oxnard Downtowners Foundation Board of Directors has announced that the Oxnard Salsa Festival will not take place in 2026 as the organization continues evaluating the future direction, format, and long-term sustainability of the event.

Founded in 1993, the Oxnard Salsa Festival became one of downtown Oxnard’s most recognized community celebrations, bringing together live music, dance, food, cultural traditions, local businesses, and visitors from throughout the region for more than 30 years.

The festival experienced an extended interruption during the pandemic years before returning in 2024 in a modified format. Since that time, the organization has continued reviewing operational considerations, community expectations, economic realities affecting large-scale events, and opportunities for the festival’s future evolution.

“The Oxnard Salsa Festival has meant a great deal to our community for generations,” said the Oxnard Downtowners Foundation Board of Directors in a statement. “This decision was not made lightly. Our goal is to continue evaluating how the festival can potentially return in a way that honors its legacy while adapting to the changing environment surrounding public events today.”

The Foundation expressed appreciation to the many volunteers, sponsors, vendors, entertainers, community partners, and attendees who have supported the festival throughout its history.

June 26, 2025 - Oxnard Salsa Festival Postponed Until 2026

The Board of Directors of the Oxnard Downtowners has announced a temporary pause for the annual Oxnard Salsa Festival. Launched in 1993, the Oxnard Salsa Festival has brought music, dance, food, and community spirit to downtown Oxnard for over 30 years. Thanks to the dedication of a hardworking volunteer team, the event has become a beloved summer tradition. As the festival continues to evolve, the board has made the decision to take a break in 2025 to reimagine and refresh the experience for a vibrant relaunch in 2026.
